American Cars

I recently rented a Chrysler 300c. I don’t like this car. What is the fascination with it? I admit the overall outside design is a great improvement over it’s brothers and sisters. What’s amazing is the lack of detail and craftsmanship. I guess these things aren’t important to the target demographic. It should be. This could be a great car.

What I didn’t like about this car is…

1. The instrument cluster looks as if it’s using the same display technology from the 80′s. Digital calculator fonts in green?! Ugh. I thought it as 2008? Cell phones have a better user interface. Can we get an update!

2. The acceleration is way too smooth. It feels the transmission is working to remove the jerky feel of shifting. I linda like the feeling. My body expects it.

3. Feels like a boat from the inside. I have been in many big cars but this is unnecessarily big feeling.

4. The steering wheel feels of cheap plastic. Like a kids toy. They could at least make it leather or something your hands feel natural around. As for the other interior material, it all feels the same way. Cheap and stiff.

That’s all for now. Other than that it’s an OK car. I guess it’s made to give the average man a feeling of luxury. I blogged about this before but this time I actually drove one.

Next review is something German ;) stay tuned!

Nissan Skyline

As I drive against a Malibu skyline this Tuesday morning I come up on a REAL Skyline (Sorry Mother Nature). The thing just conceals itself with traffic unless you know what it really is. This is what I like, a subtle beast. One day I’ll own one but for now I’m fine just sitting on the bench.

Tesla S

Tesla S

This is what I was waiting for! Electric cars that look cool! The first Tesla is very cool but not DzynOne cool. Just look at this thing. It’s even a 4 door! It is very Japanese Nissan looking, almost a cross between the Z and Skyline. The designer is from Mazda so it should look a bit Japanese influenced. If this were reasonably priced, it would be a great choice for me. This car is $60k, 40 grand LESS than the smaller first one!

Tesla says the Model S will get about 240 miles per charge while still offering “exceptional performance.” More to come later.

KTM X-Bow

KTM X-Bow

WOW! That’s all I have to say. This Audi powered beast is a new entry into the “?” class. What class is it in anyway? I don’t know but I HAVE to have it. Along with the Ariel Atom, I think I have found a new passion other than street bikes. If you read my RIP post earlier, its obvious that I’m over bikes anyway. For more info check out the page. Heres a video of it in action!
